Porto Seguro beaches – enjoy the soft white sand of the Bahia.
Porto Seguro beaches are among the most popular and spectacular in Brazil – and perhaps the world. 53 miles of fine, soft, white sand stretch along the coast of the Porto Seguro region.
There are beaches along the Porto Seguro coast that are safe for young swimmers, reefs ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving, dunes, palm trees and surfing opportunities – in other words, anything you want from a beach, you will find here in the Bahia beaches.
Here is a map to give you a flavor of the beaches in Porto Seguro and up and down the surrounding coastline.

Beaches are the life and soul of Porto Seguro. Relaxing during the day, they become party land during the night as music and dancing spreads out from the town of Porto Seguro and onto the Porto Seguro beaches. Food, drink, crowds and parties appear on the beaches, not just in the beach disco huts but in the open air along the sea.
On weekends, the Porto Seguro beaches can be crowded and you should keep an eye on your possessions to ensure they don’t get “mislaid”! Don’t bring more than you need with you. Most beaches have “barracas” where you can buy beer and food on the beach.
Some of the most popular in the array of Porto Seguro beaches include:
Praia de Apa-Fogo
Great for swimming, fishing and sports like windsurfing and jet ski-ing. There are natural pools along the reefs at low tide so it is fascinating to explore.
