Praia de Pitinga is one of the most beautiful of the Porto Seguro beaches. This Bahia beach is particularly serene and peaceful as it is quite secluded. It is close by the little town of Arraial D'Ajuda – just 1.5 kilometers from Arraial’s center – and is accessed via a small road through the forest.
If you are driving to Pitinga Beach along the Porto Seguro coast, you will have to leave your car at the Mare bar and restaurant (where you might want to stop for a delicious meal of tile-baked fish or baked lobster, the local specialties) and then go the rest of the way to the beach on foot.

It is said that the best time of year for diving at beach Pitinga is between the months of December through to March, when the water is at its most clear.
At certain times of the year there are quite a lot of surfers and surf trips in this area as there is a strong inlet of water up the estuary of the river.
Other activities that are popular on and around Praia de Pitinga include horse riding along the beach and through the forest tracks, and paragliding.
