Praia do Parracho is one of the Porto Seguro beaches that is extremely popular with divers. At Parracho Beach there are many stalls and shops where you can hire snorkeling equipment and diving equipment. You may wish to take a lesson in scuba diving on the coral reefs – it is an ideal first diving location thanks to its calm, serene waters.
The Beach of Parracho, like many of the Bahia beaches, is blessed with soft white sand and clear, vibrant blue sea. There are many natural sights both inland and seawards. Against a back drop of spectacular sandy cliffs, the bright blue sky and bright green vegetation and palm trees make this a beautiful beach. At low tide natural rock pools form along the reef and the beach is a natural habitat for many kinds of marine life, including colorful fishes and green turtles.
As well as the wildlife, Beach Parracho is one of the very popular beaches in Porto Seguro for the humans too! You’ll find plenty of music on Praia do Parracho, lounge music in the mornings and then lively reggae and axe music at night. Be sure to visit the popular “Nostravamus” bar on Parracho beach where they serve a particularly good “Capeta”, made with pineapple, vodka and powdered guarana, an Amazon fruit which contains a complex mixture of natural stimulants. The guarana fruit has been held sacred by the Amerindians for centuries – perhaps it is this addition to the alcohol that enables the local Bahians to party late every night!
Other activities that are commonly enjoyed at Praia do Parracho include windsurfing, dancing and playing volleyball. Last but not least don’t miss the lambaerobica, an interesting and very fun mixture of dance and rhythmic exercise, performed to music, which even the most inexperienced tourists are always welcome to have a go at.
At night the Praia do Parracho comes alive with dancing, music and party life. The Bahians seem to want to party every night of the week and the beach of Parracho is particularly popular with the local youngsters as well as the tourists as it has a large beach club called “Parracho” where music and dancing go on all through the night.
Even if you don’t stagger to bed until the early hours of the morning, you will be sure to want to drag yourself out again by daybreak to visit Praia do Parracho again and start partying all over again!
